Kirsten Bayes
Psychotherapist/Counselor and Behaviour Support PractitionerAs a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, Kirsten approaches individuals in a person-centred manner and endeavours to support them to find the path to the life they desire. She is warm and empathetic, believing in the importance of the people she works with feeling truly seen and heard. She allows clients the agency and autonomy within the therapy setting to set the pace, collaboratively setting goals with them. She has worked extensively with children through to adults and offers an integrative understanding drawing from attachment theory, developmental theory, family systems theory and more. She has worked extensively with neurodivergent individuals as well as complex trauma and approaches these from a strength-based approach. She has additional training in ecotherapy and somatic therapy and uses tools from these as well as art therapy when appropriate as often times cognitive based therapies are not enough to work through the experiences these clients have had. The individual is at the centre of her practice, and she cares genuinely for their wellbeing.
